Grace in Motion: The Ballet Project (Nagy-Kuthy Ballet School)

My deep love for dance and movement found another beautiful connection through my family’s life. For eight wonderful years, my daughter attended a truly fantastic place: the Nagy-Kuthy Ballet School in Martonvásár. This school was so much more than just an after-school activity for us. The founders, Merci and Zoli bácsi (Uncle Zoli), were far more than just teachers to her; they were incredible mentors, role models, and guiding lights who shaped her life with endless love and immense expertise.

Naturally, as both a mother and a photographer, I couldn’t resist capturing this magic. Over the years, I became the unofficial documentarian of their world, using my camera to capture the grueling rehearsals, the quiet, emotional backstage moments, and the breathtaking final performances on stage.

Because I witnessed firsthand the immense hard work, tears, laughter, and discipline behind every single graceful movement, this project became deeply personal to me. Through these photographs, I don’t just capture perfect technique—I aim to freeze the raw emotion, the drama of the motion, and the unique artistic spirit that Merci and Zoli bácsi so passionately instill in their dancers.
